Choosing the Right Supplier

Choosing the right broadband package can get very complication; especially with new entrants offering combined phone and internet packages.

Key things to consider are:

  • How much am I willing to pay?
  • Do I want to change my existing email addresses?
  • Do I have several computers?
  • Do I want 1 company to supply my broadband and telephone /cable packages?
  • What performance would I be happy with?
  • Who do my friends recommend?
  • Do I want to be wired or wireless to my computer?

Setting Up the Broadband and Troubleshooting

Installing broadband should be easy and take 45 minutes maximum. Trouble shooting broadband problems can get complicated very quickly.

Always checks the basics:

  • Has my broadband been activated?
  • Do I have all the filters in the right place?
  • Have I changed anything recently e.g. new software, cables, firewalls etc.
  • Do all my computers suffer the same problem?
  • Can I swap and check the cables?
